Across the United States, certain recipients of Social Security benefits are scheduled to get their latest monthly payment tomorrow, Monday, August 3.
Social Security is to be issued to two groups of recipients, as the Social Security Administration (SSA) kicks off the program’s distribution timeline for August 2026.
Who gets Social Security tomorrow, August 3?

August’s Social Security is to be sent out to recipients who began collecting their benefits before May 1997.
- Twin beneficiaries: Social Security + SSI
Tomorrow is also August’s Social Security distribution date for recipients who combine the program with Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
A benefit for certain low-income individuals, SSI differs from Social Security as it is needs-based. Eligibility is not dependent on a claimant’s work history.
August’s SSI benefits were paid on Friday, July 31. Worth a monthly average of $738.10, SSI is typically issued on the first of the month, but was sent out a day early as August began on a Saturday.

When are other Social Security beneficiaries paid for August?
Of the 71.3 million recipients of Social Security, many will get their August payment on the second, third or fourth Wednesday in the month, depending on their birthday:
- Born on 1st-10th of any month: paid on Wednesday, August 12
- Born on 11th-20th of any month: paid on Wednesday, August 19
- Born on 21st-31st of any month: paid on Wednesday, August 26
NB: If you claim Social Security benefits based on someone else’s employment record, the SSA uses the other person’s date of birth.
How does the Social Security Admin pay out benefits?
Social Security recipients can prove the SSA with their bank details by logging in to the agency’s online “my Social Security” tool.
Benefits can be paid onto the Direct Express Card, a special debit card for federal disbursements. Sign up at 1-800-333-1795 or 1-800-772-1213, or at a Social Security office.
