Social Security on February 18: Social Security sends money every month to millions of people in the United States. For many families, this program is the main source of income. These payments help people pay bills, buy food and feel more secure. For some retirees and disabled workers, this money is what helps them live calmly without constant stress.

This week is important because another group of beneficiaries will receive their monthly payment. Many people are waiting for this deposit, so it is good to understand who is getting paid and how much.

Who gets Paid on February 18?

Wednesday, February 18, is the third Wednesday of the month. On this day, payments go out to the second large group of retirees and other beneficiaries. To qualify for this date, people must meet a birth date rule.

How Much Are Payments in 2026

It is important to remember that this year’s payments already reflect the 2.8% increase for the cost-of-living adjustment (COLA). On average, the estimated amounts for February are as follows:

    • Retired workers: Average of $2,071 per month.
    • People with disabilities: Average of $1,630 USD.
    • Surviving spouses: Approximately $1,919 USD.

    Final schedule for February 2026

Date of birth / Payday in February

    • Days 1 to 10 / Already paid (Wednesday, February 11)
    • Days 11 to 20 / Wednesday, February 18
    • Days 21 to 31 / Wednesday, February 25

There is also a special case for people who receive Supplemental Security Income. The Social Security Administration has confirmed that because March 1, 2026 falls on a Sunday, the SSI payment for that month will be sent earlier. Instead of March 1, beneficiaries will get it on Friday, February 27.

This kind of change is normal. When a payment date falls on a weekend or holiday, the deposit is moved to an earlier day. Sometimes this makes it look like there is an extra payment in one month, but it is simply an adjusted schedule.
