AXA Group has unveiled key findings from its annual “AXA Mind Health Report 2026,” underscoring a global mental health crisis and the multifaceted challenges facing populations worldwide.

The AXA Mind Health Report 2026, which surveyed over 19,000 individuals across 18 countries, including Thailand, reveals a continuous rise in mental health issues. Nearly half of the respondents (46%) reported experiencing burnout or currently managing a mental health condition. Notably, young adults and early-career professionals aged 18–34 require the closest attention, with 59% in this demographic facing similar struggles, marking a significant 13% higher than the global average. Concurrently, Artificial Intelligence (AI) is playing an increasingly prominent role in mental wellness, with 63% of respondents stating they have utilised AI platforms to manage or seek guidance on their mental health.

In the global rankings, Thailand secured the highest Mind Health Index score among all 18 surveyed markets at 66.5, outperforming Switzerland (65.4), China (63.8), and the United States (63.0), while exceeding the global average of 61.8. Conversely, several developed nations scored below the global benchmark, including the United Kingdom (59.5) and Japan, which ranked lowest at 58.1. These insights indicate that while the Thai population reports higher levels of mental wellbeing compared to many global peers, addressing the specific challenges faced by the younger generation remains a critical priority aligned with broader global trends.

Paweena Khemarangsan, Chief Customer Officer of AXA Insurance Thailand, stated: “For the past six years, AXA has listened closely to how people around the world experiences and talk about mental health through the Mind health Report. What we hear shapes how we work: understanding people, not just data, is what allows us to build health insurance solutions that genuinely meet their needs – supporting both physical and mental wellbeing together.”

AXA Insurance Thailand remains deeply committed to raising awareness of holistic wellness in Thai society. Guided by the belief that good health begins with early prevention, the company offers comprehensive protection through its AXA SwitchCare and AXA International Exclusive health insurance plans to support sustainable, preventive healthcare.
