“Thank you to everyone who joined us last night for our “Changing the Narrative on Suicide” event.
We are incredibly grateful to the members of our community who took the time to attend, listen, learn, and be part of this important conversation. Your presence sends a powerful message that suicide prevention and mental health awareness matter, and that no one in our community should feel they have to face a difficult moment alone.
We also extend our sincere appreciation to our community partners, NBPD officers and staff, and everyone who helped provide resources, support, and information throughout the evening.
A special thank you to our NBPD LEAD Team members Lizandra, Natasha, Haywood, Annette, and Meaghan, whose hard work and dedication helped bring this event together.

Events like this are about more than one evening. They are about continuing the conversation, reducing the stigma surrounding mental health and suicide, connecting people with resources, and reminding one another that asking for help is a sign of strength.
To everyone who attended and supported this effort, thank you for standing with us as we work together to change the narrative.”-City of New Bedford Police Department.
