Each day is the ideal opportunity to start afresh – a new beginning and another chance to commit to thriving in life and not just merely existing. It’s a clean slate and its ours to fill with hope, positivity and love.

Good people are quick to remind others how important and appreciated they are, but sometimes, we forget to tell ourselves the same thing. Putting the needs of others as a priority is essential, but we have to remember to take care of “us” too. Finding a way to support or help other people can only be sustained if we remember to tend to our own positivity needs as well.

Positive affirmations are a potent means to help build self-esteem and boost our mood. The right words, when repeated often enough and truly believed, can do wonders for our mind-set. That’s why each and every day, its important that we take time to gather our thoughts and give ourselves some credit.  Beginning our day in prayer or with positive affirmations that uplift and inspire us, is essential to getting out into the world and being the best possible version of ourselves.

These positive affirmations help remind us that we need to take care of ourselves too. They reaffirm that we matter and that all life is important and precious.  Choose the ones you like or better still, create your own — the key is to make sure to tell yourself daily, that you are in fact, beyond value.

    I matter.
I am an important person and I am loved and respected.

    I am good enough.
None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes —  I know that I am worthy and good enough.

    I will keep trying.
I may not always get it right, but I just have to keep trying my best.

    I will stay positive.
I will focus on the positives in my life and I will be grateful for all that I have.

    I will become better.
Not better than anyone else, but better than the person I was yesterday.

    I choose happiness.
Each day, I consciously choose to be a happy and content person. I will live the life that I imagine for myself.

    I choose peace and kindness.
Love matters. People matter. I choose to be good, kind and will let peace envelop me.

Each day, we should reaffirm that we matter, we’re important and we’re needed — always.

“Talk to yourself like you would to someone you love.” — Brené Brown

“If you aren’t good at loving yourself, you will have a difficult time loving anyone, since you’ll resent the time and energy you give another person that you aren’t even giving to yourself.” — Barbara De Angelis

“The world shines a little brighter when you are kinder to yourself and kind to others.” — Steven Aitchison

“Be true to yourself, be kind to yourself, read and learn about everything that interests you, and keep away from people who bring you down.” — Steve Maraboli
