A 19-year-old Cypriot man will run 100 kilometres solo from Kourion, Limassol, to Paphos harbour and back on Sunday, April 26, to raise awareness for mental health and support the Cyprus Samaritans.

This ultra-endurance challenge seeks to highlight the need for mental resilience and encourage seeking help.

The Cyprus Samaritans will monitor the progress of the man, known by his first name Neo, meet him at checkpoints and provide live updates on social media.

Supporters can follow the journey and send messages of encouragement via Instagram and Facebook at @cyprussamaritans.

“I know what it feels like to struggle in silence,” Neo said. “Through this run, I want people to know there is always someone ready to listen and that things can get better, step by step.”

The event is part of Cyprus Samaritans’ ongoing efforts to provide free emotional support to anyone in distress, struggling to cope, or at risk of suicide.

The helpline operates daily from 4pm to midnight at 8000 7773, and further information is available at cyprussamaritans.org.

The 100km run highlights the importance of mental health and emphasises that seeking help signifies strength.

Neo’s initiative seeks to inspire hope and resilience across Cyprus.
