Sessions and materials roll out across Abu Dhabi in nine languages with accessible formats for people with disabilities.

Authorities in Abu Dhabi have begun implementing the second phase of the ‘Our Community is Prepared’ campaign, an initiative aimed at strengthening public awareness of emergency response and improving community preparedness across the emirate.

The campaign is led by the Emergencies Crises and Disasters Management Centre Abu Dhabi in cooperation with several government and community entities. These include Abu Dhabi Police, the Abu Dhabi Civil Defence Authority, the Department of Community Development, the Family Development Foundation, the Zayed Higher Organization for People of Determination, Abu Dhabi Ports Group, and Tadweer Group.

The initiative focuses on improving residents’ understanding of how to respond when emergency alerts are issued and during incidents. Officials said the campaign provides practical guidance on responding to potential hazards, including risks such as falling debris, and emphasises the importance of following instructions from relevant authorities to protect residents and support emergency response teams.

Authorities also highlighted the risks associated with photographing accident scenes or sharing unverified information during emergencies. Such actions can disrupt field operations and slow response efforts, and residents are encouraged to rely only on official channels for updates while avoiding the spread of rumours.

As part of the programme, awareness sessions and educational materials are being delivered across workplaces and public spaces throughout Abu Dhabi. Information is available in nine languages to ensure accessibility for the emirate’s diverse population, with additional adaptations provided for people with disabilities.
