Central University of Andhra Pradesh (CU-A.P.) Vice-Chancellor S.A. Kori launched ‘Project Parivarthan’, an initiative focused on drug abuse prevention, mental health awareness, and screen de-addiction, by releasing its posters at his chambers, on Tuesday.
The programme is being organised by Nigama Foundation, in collaboration with MY Bharat, Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Pragathi Padham Youth Association, and will be implemented across eight districts of Rayalaseema.
The occasion was graced by MYBharat representative Bisathi Bharath, former principal Pathika Ramesh Narayana, CU-A.P. faculty O. Pranathi, President of India awardee Kuruba Jaya Maruthi, and Ek Ped Maa Ka Naam ambassador S. Navani.
Meanwhile, Project Parivarthan was started by Sameer Penakalapati, founder of Nigama Foundation, with the aim of offering a healthy and balanced life to young people vulnerable to substance abuse and mental health challenges. The project focuses on orienting students and youth towards prevention, awareness, and positive lifestyle choices.
Nigama Foundation has so far successfully conducted over 60 orientation sessions with the support of psychiatrists, psychologists, subject experts, and government officials, reaching more than 20,000 young individuals.
Inspired by the vision of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya under Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat, this initiative was conceived to build a healthier generation, said MYBharat representative Bisathi Bharath.
Mr. Kori congratulated the entire team for spearheading the initiative towards a drug-free, mentally strong, and digitally balanced youth of India.
