When we talk about depression, many people believe that it may be an irremediable issue or that it can also come as a consequence of aging. However, the reality is that, as mentioned on the specific health, care, and wellness blog Su médico slr on the official Instagram account, it can be prevented through simple actions. Therefore, they recommend five simple habits that can be incorporated into our daily lives to prevent depression.

    Simple habits

One of the main issues they highlight is rest. They recommend not only sleeping well, but also keeping regular hours and trying to get sufficiently optimal rest to promote a better mood and a better psychological predisposition to face life’s vicissitudes. Sleep problems can be related to many symptoms of depression.

Secondly, specialists recommend being physically active. It doesn’t matter what kind, walking, swimming, dancing, running, or doing exercises that suit your physical, medical, and personal situation. These are essential for improving mood, providing physical health benefits, and having a good mental disposition.

It is also necessary to have a balanced diet. This should include foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, fish, and other wonderful and fabulous nutrients to maintain the proper functioning of our body and brain. Something that greatly benefits the body and the brain. On the other hand, habits such as tobacco and alcohol consumption can significantly affect both physical and mental health. Therefore, it is advisable to reduce or eliminate them completely to contribute to our overall well-being.

    The importance of social life

Many times we believe that depression depends only on what we do, but the support network we have around us can also have a certain influence. Therefore, they recommend maintaining an active social life.

It is not always necessary to turn to friends; it is also important to spend time with our family members or even take part in community activities that help reduce isolation and promote emotional well-being. Preventing depression is possible through simple habits that can be incorporated into our everyday lives, although we must also be aware of when the problem becomes too much for us and we need the help of a professional to get out of the depressive cycle we find ourselves in. Therefore, if you cannot find a solution, it is advisable to make an appointment with a specialist.
