Udupi, Sep 28: As part of National Suicide Prevention Month, BSc Nursing sixth-semester students of Moodlakatte College of Nursing, Kundapur, organised an awareness programme at Kamala Baliga Memorial Hall, A V Baliga Hospital, Doddanagudde, Udupi, on September 28.

The programme, held aimed to create awareness about suicide prevention, highlight the importance of mental health and encourage people experiencing emotional distress to seek timely help and support.

A V Baliga Hospital administrator Soujanya Shetty and nursing superintendent Pramila D’Souza were the chief guests. Chetana R, assistant lecturer at Moodlakatte College of Nursing, was also present.

The programme was compered by Sinchana, while Ankitha delivered the welcome address and Shobha spoke about the significance of the programme.

The students presented a dance performance, a psychological game and a short skit on suicide prevention. Through the skit, the students conveyed important messages on responding empathetically to people in distress, maintaining effective communication, providing emotional support, identifying warning signs and seeking professional help at the appropriate time.

Shreya proposed the vote of thanks. The programme concluded by conveying the important message that every life is precious and no one should have to face their struggles alone.
