As urban India’s relationship with wellness shifts from reactive quick fixes to consistent, everyday habits, magnesium is emerging as one of the category’s most compelling stories. In this interaction, Akshina Jindal, Founder & CEO of Bubble Me, speaks about why magnesium is gaining traction in India’s wellness conversation, how the brand is building topical formats like roll-ons and body lotions into everyday self-care routines, and what’s driving consumers to move away from occasional fixes toward more consistent, routine-based approaches to wellbeing.
1. Why is magnesium gaining attention in India’s wellness space, and what role can it play in supporting everyday wellbeing?
Magnesium is finally getting the attention it deserves because more people are starting to connect the dots between their daily habits – screen-heavy jobs, inconsistent sleep, constant low-grade stress – and how depleted their bodies feel by the end of the day. It’s a mineral involved in over 300 processes in the body, yet globally, close to a third of people don’t get enough of it, largely due to processed diets and depleted soil. In India specifically, urban lifestyles are accelerating this awareness. As consumers move away from treating wellness reactively and toward more preventive, everyday habits, magnesium fits naturally into that shift – not as a dramatic fix, but as steady, background support for how the body copes with daily life.
2. With consumers increasingly looking for convenient wellness solutions, how can topical magnesium formats such as Bubble Me’s Magnesium Roll-On and Body Care range fit into everyday self-care routines?
Convenience is really the whole idea behind formats like our Pain Relief Magnesium Roll-On and our Body Reset Magnesium Lotion. Not everyone has the time for an elaborate wellness ritual on a weeknight, and that shouldn’t be the barrier to building a consistent habit. A roll-on takes seconds to use at a desk or before bed; a lotion can simply replace a regular moisturiser after a shower. Both are designed so that using them doesn’t feel like an extra task added to an already busy day – it becomes part of a routine someone’s already doing. That, to us, is what makes a wellness habit actually stick long-term, rather than being abandoned after a week.
3. How can magnesium-focused products be incorporated into routines around sleep, stress and muscle recovery, and what should consumers consider when choosing such products?
The key is matching the format to the moment. For sleep, something like our Better Sleep Bath Salts works well as part of an evening wind-down, since a warm soak itself signals to the body that the day is ending. For stress, a shorter ritual – even a five-minute soak with our Anti-Stress Bath Salts – can help create a pause in an otherwise packed day. For muscle recovery, something applied directly after activity, like our Muscle Reset salts or the roll-on, fits more naturally. What consumers should look for is consistency of use over any single “quick fix” claim, along with transparency about what’s actually in the formula, rather than vague wellness language.
4. Bubble Me offers products such as Better Sleep Bath Salts, Anti-Stress Bath Salts, and Muscle Reset. How can targeted magnesium wellness products complement different self-care needs?
We built these as targeted rituals rather than one generic product, because people don’t experience stress, poor sleep, and muscle tightness the same way, and they don’t want to reach for the same thing for all three. Better Sleep leans on lavender and chamomile for an evening cue; Anti-Stress uses jasmine and peppermint for a mid-day reset; Muscle Reset is built around Dead Sea salt and eucalyptus for after activity or a long day on your feet. Together with our Reset Kit, which brings a few of these into one pack, the idea is that someone can pick the ritual that matches what they’re actually feeling that day, rather than a single catch-all product.
5. What do you believe is driving the shift from occasional wellness fixes towards more consistent, routine-based approaches to wellbeing?
I think Indian consumers are becoming more skeptical of products that promise to fix something overnight, and more drawn to routines that build up quietly over weeks. Part of it is simply fatigue with reactive wellness – reaching for a painkiller, an energy drink, a sleep aid, each treating a symptom without addressing why it keeps happening. There’s also more awareness now, through social media and word of mouth, about nutrients like magnesium that work through consistency rather than a single dose. At Bubble Me, this is exactly the shift we’ve built around – making a genuinely useful mineral simple enough to become a daily habit, not something reached for only in a moment of crisis.
