New Delhi, Sept 24: The All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, celebrated the 11th Ayurveda Day–2026 at its New Delhi campus with a series of academic, awareness and outreach programmes. The celebrations on September 23 included a public awareness rally, seminar and the launch of two books focused on Ayurveda and integrative healthcare.
The Ayurveda Public Awareness Rally was organised in the morning to promote the principles of Ayurveda and create greater public awareness about its role in healthy living and holistic healthcare. Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati, Director, AIIA, participated in the rally along with senior faculty members, scholars, doctors and staff of the Institute.
A seminar was organised in the afternoon on the theme “One Health, One Future: Integrating Science through Evidence, Innovations & Holistic Care.” Prof. (Dr.) Ravichandiran V., Vice-Chancellor, Delhi Pharmaceutical Sciences and Research University (DPSRU), attended the programme as Chief Guest, while Dr. Vinay Choudhary, Medical Officer, Department of AYUSH, Government of India, was the Guest of Honour. Dr. Choudhary delivered a lecture on autoimmune disorders in clinical Ayurvedic practice.
Addressing the gathering, AIIA Director Prof. (Vaidya) Pradeep Kumar Prajapati highlighted the importance of collective participation in Ayurveda awareness initiatives and stronger public engagement. He said AIIA had organised seminars, expert lectures, webinars, awareness programmes and patient-centric activities as part of Ayurveda Day celebrations.
Among the initiatives highlighted were “AyurVarta,” a special Ayurveda-focused talk show, and AYURPRABHA-2026, a six-day workshop on Ayurveda Dermatology and Cosmetology. AIIA also conducted a special eye-screening camp for students of an NTPC school as part of its outreach activities.
Two books were also launched during the celebrations—“Tarangini Sara Sangraha” and “Integrative Healthcare for Better Outcomes.” The programmes reflected AIIA’s focus on promoting Ayurveda awareness while highlighting its engagement with education, research, clinical practice and public healthcare outreach.
