SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – September is National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month.
Trisha Dohn with WELL365 joined Dakota News Now to talk about suicide prevention and mental health awareness in the workplace.
“We spend so much time at work, and a lot of times when people go through that door, you don’t know what they are going through. And I think so many people are afraid to bring that culture of awareness to the workplace,” said Dohn.
“Really, workplaces can think about crisis prevention, especially with suicide. What can they do so that they don’t get to a situation where someone is struggling, and that is a situation that they are having to deal with. So, really just normalizing those conversations, making sure individuals know if there is support and resources in place.”
