As July comes closer to an end, Nevadans who qualify for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) may be wondering what the payment schedule looks like for August and the rest of 2026.
The schedule is a bit off this upcoming month because Aug. 1 lands on a Saturday. As a result, SSI checks will be sent out a day early on Friday, July 31. SSI payments are typically sent on the first of the month, but the date gets adjusted if the first falls on a weekend or holiday.
SSI is a program administered by the Social Security Administration that provides benefits to those with limited or no income or resources, those aged 65 or older, and those with a qualifying disability.
Social Security payments will land on Wednesdays per usual, with Aug. 12, 19 and 26 as the payment dates. The schedule is based on recipients’ birth dates, according to the SSA.
On Tuesday, July 14, the nonpartisan senior advocacy group, The Senior Citizens League, released an updated prediction for the 2027 Social Security Cost-of-Living Adjustment (COLA). The group projected a 3.8% increase, which would be 1.1 percentage points higher than the increase for 2026.
The official 2027 COLA will be announced in October — though, in the meantime, The Senior Citizens League forecasts are released typically early each month.

Wednesday, Aug. 26: for Social Security beneficiaries with birth dates between Aug. 21-31.

According to the SSA, if you don’t receive your payment on the scheduled date, wait three additional days, then call the Social Security office.
