A suicide prevention charity is calling on the public to help save lives through a new project across Yorkshire.
Papyrus is focusing on men and boys in farming and agricultural trades across York and North Yorkshire.
James Parkes, area manager for England North at Papyrus, said: “Farming is a way of life but it is not without its challenges.
“Tragically, around three agricultural workers take their own lives every week in the UK.
“Here locally, we will be targeting and engaging with the most vulnerable.
“To do that effectively, we need more volunteers who can help us to reduce the stigma around suicide, increase help-seeking, build more rural contacts and promote greater awareness of the help that is available.”
The scheme is backed by David Skaith, the Mayor of York and North Yorkshire, and is part-funded by the York and North Yorkshire Combined Authority.
Volunteers are especially needed at events including the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate, Aldborough and Boroughbridge Show at Newby Hall in Ripon, Ryedale Show in Helmsley, and Tockwith and District Show at Tockwith, York.
