BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN: Participants of the ‘Introduction to Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)’ workshop for heads of departments at the Ministry of Health (MoH) received their certificates at a closing ceremony on Thursday (June 11).

Deputy Permanent Secretary (Policy and Management) at the MoH Pengiran Mohammad Khiruddin Yusoff was the guest of honour to officiate the closing ceremony and certificate presentation.

The two-day workshop, organised by the MoH in collaboration with the Department of Administration and Finance and the Health Promotion Centre, is aimed at enhancing sensitivity, awareness, and understanding of mental health issues and mental illnesses, particularly within the workplace context.

In addition, the workshop sought to equip heads of departments with basic knowledge and skills to identify early signs of mental health problems, while also introducing tools and support resources that can be utilised for appropriate assistance and early intervention.

The workshop was attended by 30 heads of departments under the MoH and was also held in conjunction with the ministry-level celebration of World Day for Safety and Health at Work 2026. – Borneo Bulletin/ANN
