The Social Security payment schedule for June 2026 is now confirmed, and nearly 74 million Americans need to know exactly when their money arrives. Whether you receive Supplemental Security Income, regular retirement benefits, or both, the Social Security Administration has set clear disbursement dates this month. Missing these dates — or misreading them — can disrupt your budget planning.

SSI recipients will receive their June check on Monday, June 1, 2026. The Social Security payment schedule for SSI typically targets the first of each month. When the first falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the SSA sends payments early — on the last business day before that date. June 1 is a Monday this year, so no early shift is needed; payments go out on the standard date.
If you rely on SSI, mark June 1 on your calendar. Funds generally reach bank accounts that day through direct deposit, though some financial institutions may take an extra business day to post the credit.

Social Security retirement benefit dates in June 2026

Regular Social Security retirement benefits follow a birth-date-based schedule in June 2026. The SSA divides recipients into three groups determined entirely by the day of the month they were born — not the year, and not the month.

If your birthday falls between the 1st and 10th of any month, your Social Security payment for June arrives on

    Live Events

People who began receiving Social Security benefits before May 1997 are not on the birth-date payment schedule. They receive their Social Security payment on the third of each month — which in June 2026 falls on a Wednesday, June 3. This group also includes people who receive both Social Security and SSI simultaneously and have been in the program since that earlier period.
If you are unsure which schedule applies to you, log in to your My Social Security account at ssa.gov or call the SSA directly at 1-800-772-1213.

When will SSI checks be sent early in 2026?

The next early SSI payment under the 2026 Social Security payment schedule falls on Friday, July 31. This is the August SSI check issued early because August 1 is a Saturday. The SSA will not wait until Monday — it sends the funds the Friday before, so recipients are not left without income over the weekend.

SSI checks will also be sent early for November 2026, since November 1 falls on a Sunday. And the first SSI check of 2027 — covering January — will be sent on Thursday, December 31, 2026, which is New Year’s Eve, because January 1 is a federal holiday.

Here is every SSI disbursement date for the rest of 2026 under the official Social Security payment schedule:

    • Monday, June 1 — June SSI payment
    • Wednesday, July 1 — July SSI payment
    • Friday, July 31 — August SSI payment (early due to Saturday, August 1)
    • Tuesday, September 1 — September SSI payment
    • Thursday, October 1 — October SSI payment
    • Friday, October 30 — November SSI payment (early due to Sunday, November 1)
    • Tuesday, December 1 — December SSI payment
    • Thursday, December 31 — January 2027 SSI payment (early due to New Year’s Day)

Why some recipients will get three payments in one month

People who receive both SSI and regular Social Security benefits will see three payments in October and December 2026. This happens because of how the Social Security payment schedule handles early SSI disbursements when the following month’s first falls on a weekend or holiday.

In October, recipients get the regular October 1 SSI payment, then their standard Social Security retirement payment on their usual Wednesday, and then the November SSI payment on October 30 — issued early because November 1 is a Sunday. The same pattern plays out in December, with the December 1 SSI check, the standard Social Security retirement payment, and then the early January SSI check on December 31.

This is not a bonus or error. It is a structural feature of how the SSA manages the Social Security payment schedule across calendar boundaries.

The SSA operates Social Security offices across every state. Mississippi alone has more than 20 field offices, in cities including Jackson, Gulfport, Hattiesburg, Tupelo, Meridian, Greenville, and Biloxi. To find the office closest to you anywhere in the country, visit the official locator tool at ssa.gov/locator.

Field offices can assist with enrollments, benefit questions, direct deposit setup, and appeals. Appointments are recommended for most in-person visits.

    FAQs:

Q1. When will SSI payments be issued in the Social Security and SSI payment schedule June 2026?
In the Social Security and SSI payment schedule June 2026, SSI benefits are set to be paid on June 1. Q2. How do Social Security retirement payments work in the Social Security and SSI payment schedule June 2026?
