As Americans are celebrating Memorial Day, some seniors may be wondering if this will delay their Social Security benefits.
The Social Security Administration sends out payments to nearly 75 million people each month, who rely on the benefits for their daily necessities. Last year, the organization eliminated paper checks, meaning payments are now sent via direct deposit.
Recipients don’t need to worry, as payments will be arriving on schedule despite the holiday. And we’re breaking down when payments are coming in June.

The next round of payments this month will come on May 27. That’s for recipients born between the 21st and 31st of any given month.
The June Social Security payment schedule is as follows:
June 10: People born between the 1st – 10th of any given month
June 17: People born between the 11th – 20th of any given month
June 24: People born between the 21st – 31st of any given month
Those who receive supplemental security income (SSI) will get their payments on June 1. Those who received Social Security before May 1997, or those who receive both Social Security and SSI will get payments on June 1 and 3.
What is the 2026 Social Security payment calendar?
The SSA has published its 2026 schedule for benefit payments on its website, allowing beneficiaries to keep track of when they can expect their payments to arrive each month.
For a general rule of thumb, the payments are distributed every month based on your birth date and will arrive on the following days:
Third day of the month (unless it falls on a weekend or holiday): People who began receiving benefits before May 1997
Second Wednesday of the month: Birthdates between the 1st and 10th
Third Wednesday of the month: Birthdates between the 11th and 20th
Fourth Wednesday of the month: Birthdates between the 21st and 31st
For individuals who receive both Social Security and Supplemental Security Income (SSI), you will receive your Social Security payment on the third day of each month and your SSI payment on the first day of each month.
