Puttaparthi: Emphasising the importance of sports in overall development, Irrigation Development Corporation (IDC) State Director and Jana Sena Party district general secretary Pati Chandrasekhar stated that participation in sports not only enhances physical and mental well-being but also strengthens leadership qualities among individuals.
He made these remarks during a cricket tournament being organised in the Puttaparthi constituency under the leadership of Jana Sena Party leaders, activists, and supporters.
The tournament, which has been underway for the past ten days, has witnessed active participation from around 40 cricket teams across the constituency.
As part of his commitment to support the event, Chandrasekhar on Wednesday handed over a financial contribution of ₹10,000 towards the tournament’s organisational expenses. The amount was presented to organiser Suri Royal at the Jana Sena Party office in Puttaparthi.
Addressing the gathering, Chandrasekhar reiterated that both the Jana Sena Party and the coalition government are committed to promoting sports at all levels.
He encouraged the participating players to maintain a spirit of sportsmanship, accept both victory and defeat with equal composure, and continue to enhance their skills through disciplined practice and dedication.
He further noted that such sporting events play a crucial role in engaging youth in constructive activities and fostering teamwork, discipline, and resilience.
Several party leaders and youth representatives were present at the event, including Thota Anil Kumar, Sanku Mahesh, Nayani Bhaskar, Bodapati Sai Kumar, and Venki Ramanjaneyulu Bhaskar, among others.
