    What we eat every day does far more than just fill our stomachs. Food plays a direct role in how we look, feel and function, often in ways we don’t immediately notice. From the health of our gut to the condition of our skin and hair, our daily choices quietly shape our overall well-being. Yet, in the rush of modern life, it’s easy to rely on convenient, processed options without thinking about their long-term impact. Over time, these small habits can take a toll on our bodies.

    Recently, Delhi-based nutritionist Lovneet Batra shared a post on Instagram where she listed 6 foods that might be silently damaging your health. The health expert also cited 6 food alternatives that you must add to your diet for holistic well-being.

    Hair health: Pumpkin seeds, not sugar

    Lovneet Batra emphasised that hair health is closely linked to nutrition. She recommended including pumpkin seeds in the diet, as they are rich in zinc and healthy fats that help support hair growth and reduce hair fall. On the other hand, excessive sugar intake may weaken hair health over time and contribute to increased hair fall.

    Energy levels: Bananas, not tea with biscuits

    For sustained energy, Batra suggested bananas as an ideal choice. Packed with natural sugars and potassium, they provide quick yet lasting energy. In contrast, relying on tea and biscuits for frequent energy boosts may lead to temporary spikes followed by fatigue.

    Glowing skin: Amla, not fried snacks

    According to Lovneet Batra, glowing skin starts with the right nutrients. Amla, rich in vitamin C, supports collagen production and helps maintain bright, healthy skin. Meanwhile, regular consumption of fried snacks can negatively impact skin health, making it appear dull over time.

    Digestion: Curd, not soft drinks

    Good digestion is key to overall wellness. Lovneet Batra highlighted curd as a beneficial food due to its probiotic content, which improves gut health and aids digestion. Soft drinks, however, can disrupt this balance and may lead to digestive issues when consumed frequently.

    Better sleep: Chamomile tea, not desserts

    Sleep quality is also influenced by diet. Lovneet Batra recommended chamomile tea for its calming properties that help relax the mind and promote better sleep. In contrast, consuming sugary foods late at night can interfere with sleep patterns and make it harder to rest properly.

    Diabetes control: Bitter gourd, not packaged juices

    For those looking to regulate blood sugar levels, Lovneet Batra suggested bitter gourd as a natural option that supports glucose control. On the other hand, packaged juices, often high in added sugars, may lead to spikes in blood sugar and should be consumed with caution.
    In conclusion, Lovneet Batra emphasises that consistency is the key, so you should start small and eat better to feel better.
