Social Security recipients will get their checks according to the usual schedule in April 2026. This applies to both standard Social Security payments as well as Supplemental Security Income (SSI) payments, according to the Social Security Administration (SSA).

Keep reading to learn what you need to know about the April payment schedule as well as the rest of the year.

    April Payments

For Social Security beneficiaries, here’s the schedule for April:

    • If your birthday falls on the first through the 10th of the month, payments were issued on Wednesday, April 8.

    • If your birthday falls on the 11th through the 20th, you’ll get your payment on Wednesday, April 15.

    • If your birthday falls on the 21st through the 31st, you’ll get your payment on Wednesday, April 22.

All SSI payments in April were issued on the first of the month. If you received Social Security before May 1997, or if you receive both Social Security and SSI, Social Security payments were issued on April 3 and SSI payments were issued on April 1.

If you don’t receive your check on the expected date, the SSA advises that you allow three additional mailing days before contacting Social Security.

Social Security Payments for the Rest of 2026

Social Security payments for the remainder of the year will follow the usual SSA schedule. Here’s a look:

    • If your birthday falls on the first through the 10th of the month, you’ll get your payment on the second Wednesday of the month.

    • If your birthday falls on the 11th through the 20th, you’ll get your payment on the third Wednesday of the month.

    • If your birthday falls on the 21st through the 31st, you’ll get your payment on the fourth Wednesday of the month.

Beneficiaries who received Social Security before May 1997 will also have payments issued according to the normal schedule, with SSI paid on the first of the month and Social Security paid on the third.

SSI Schedule for the Rest of 2026

SSI checks do not always follow a regular pattern. Due to a quirk in the payment schedule, SSI beneficiaries will get two payments in some months and no payments in others.

Here are the SSI payment dates for the rest of the year, according to the SSA calendar:

    • July: Wednesday, July 1 and Friday, July 31 (August payment)

    • August: No payment scheduled

    • September: Tuesday, Sept. 1

    • October: Thursday, Oct. 1 and Friday, Oct. 30 (November payment)

    • November: No payment scheduled

    • December: Tuesday, Dec. 1 and Thursday, Dec. 31 (January 2027 payment)
