On Wednesday, Mar. 25, the Social Security Administration (SSA) is to send out this month’s final batch of Social Security pay – be it retirement, disability or survivor benefits – to recipients born between 21st and 31st of any month.
Important: If you claim Social Security based on someone else’s work record, the SSA uses the other person’s birthday.
Who has been paid March’s Social Security benefits?
Mar. 25’s payment run is part of a three-Wednesdays cycle: Each month, most Social Security recipients are paid on the second, third or fourth Wednesday, depending on the worker’s date of birth.
In March, birthdays between 1st and 20th of each month were covered on Mar. 11 and 18:
- Born on 1st-10th: Weds., Mar. 11
- Born on 11th-20th: Weds., Mar. 18
- Born on 21st-31st: Weds., Mar. 25

On Tuesday, Mar. 3, the SSA was to pay out benefits to any recipients who signed up for Social Security before May 1997.
- Dual beneficiaries: Mar. 3
On Mar. 3, Social Security also went out to any Americans who combine retirement, disability or survivor pay with Supplemental Security Income (SSI).
SSI is a needs-based benefit for low-income individuals who are over 65 or have a disability.
When was SSI paid for March 2026?
March’s SSI was paid on Friday, Feb. 27. The benefit is normally issued on the opening day of each month, but was distributed early as March began on a Sunday.
