Mental health is as important as physical health, and only when one is both physically and mentally fit that one can achieve success, said NTR District Collector G. Lakshmisha.

As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, A.P. NGO Association organised sports competitions for women at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation stadium in Vijayawada on Wednesday (March 4). Sports Authority of A.P. (SAAP) Chairman A. Ravi Naidu, A.P. NGO State president A. Vidyasagar, A.P. NGO Women’s Wing State chairperson Nirmala Kumari and others took part.

Continuing his point, the Collector said the State government organised Yogandhra events to raise awareness among the public about the importance of mental well-being.

Noting that sports play an important role in relieving stress at workplace, Mr. Ravi Naidu said the State government is thinking about organising sports competitions for bureacrats and police personnel.
