Draw From The Bible For Inspiration And Hope

One of the greatest sources for inspiration and hope, is of course the Bible. I say “one of,” but its really the greatest source for teachings and lessons that uplift and fortify us. The Beatitudes is one of my favorites.

Jesus preached an absolutely beautiful life lesson and guide in His Sermon on the Mount. Spoken bmy Jesus over 2,000 years ago, the meaning of His words are beyond measure and are as vitally relevant today as they were then – perhaps even more so.

This particular sermon put a strong emphasis on kindness, generosity, forgiveness, and faith. It is essential to help show us that we will grow and thrive if we choose God’s way — His way for love, peace, happiness and harmony will lead to an everlasting life that is absolutely beautiful.

    The Beatitudes

When Jesus saw all the crowds gathered, He went up on a mountainside with His Disciples following Him and Jesus began to teach them, and the Beatitudes are a significant part of that teaching:

    The Beatitudes

    Jesus said:

Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven, for in the same way they persecuted the prophets who were before you.
How absolutely beautiful. The Beatitudes show God’s infinite love for us. Jesus taught these valuable lessons so that all man could learn and live a life that is filled with goodness and peace.

What we see in the Sermon on the Mount, is that God is telling us in that in no uncertain terms, we are meant to love one another and to be kind and gentle with each other. Once we accept that love is the right path and that we aren’t meant to judge and condemn harshly, we realize that our mission is to help and uplift our fellow man — always.

Today, let all Christians across the world put away cruelty, selfishness, anger and jealousy and in their place, passionately take up love, kindness, hope, compassion and tolerance.

“A generous person will prosper; whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.” – Proverbs 11:25

“God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them.” – Hebrews 6:10

“Give to the one who begs from you, and do not refuse the one who would borrow from you.” – Matthew 5:42

“Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” – Colossians 3:13
