Social Security payments will follow a normal schedule in February.

Social Security benefits – paid mostly to recipients who are older or retired – are typically paid on Wednesdays. On the second Wednesday of the month, payments are issued for beneficiaries whose birthday falls between the first and 10th days of the month (this month, that lands on Feb. 11), according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.

Those born between the 11th and 20th get paid on the third Wednesday (Feb. 18) of the month; those born after the 20th of the month are paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month (Feb. 25), according to the SSA calendar. Social Security recipients who began getting benefits before May 1997 are paid on Jan. 3.

Social Security payments should be slightly bigger, thanks to a 2.8% cost-of-living adjustment, or COLA, increase, which went into effect in January. Payments were expected to rise by about $56 per month on average, the Social Security Administration said.

The Social Security Administration’s 2026 benefit payments calendar is available online so you can check the schedules for budgeting purposes.

February 2026 Social Security retirement benefits will be sent out on the SSA’s usual schedule:

    • Wednesday, Feb. 11: Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month.

    • Wednesday, Feb. 18: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th of the month.

    • Wednesday, Feb. 25: Birth dates between the 21st and 31st of the month.

Recipients of Supplemental Security Income (SSI) checks are typically issued payments on the first business day of the month. Since Feb. 1, 2026 is a Sunday, payments for February were to go out Friday, Jan. 30, 2026.

SSI checks will be sent out on the following dates in 2026, according to the SSA calendar:

    • Friday, Jan. 30, 2026 (Check for February 2026)

    • Friday, Feb. 2, 2026 (Check for March 2026)
