The Emirates Health Services has announced plans to launch two major health initiatives designed to strengthen family wellness and preventive care across all life stages. The announcement, made in Dubai, aligns with the UAE’s Year of the Family campaign and reflects national priorities to enhance quality of life and sustainable health prevention. These comprehensive programs aim to support family health and stability through targeted reproductive health education and community-based awareness activities.

According to the institution, the first initiative is a comprehensive program titled “Integrated Family Enhancement for Reproductive Health,” which focuses on promoting reproductive health concepts across different age groups. This program is designed to support families from the earliest stages of their formation and represents an innovative vision that transforms reproductive health from traditional medical awareness into an interactive and comprehensive community experience.

Reproductive Health Program Targets Multiple Demographics

Dr. Shamsa Lootah, Director of Public Health at the Emirates Health Services, emphasized that these initiatives represent a practical model linking health to the family as a fundamental social unit. The reproductive health initiative aligns with the Year of the Family objectives by assessing current awareness efforts, identifying health and behavioral challenges, and addressing them through specialized programs and strategic partnerships.

These partnerships include schools, universities, government and private entities, healthcare facilities, digital platforms, and social media channels to ensure awareness messages reach various community segments. The program focuses on educating young men and women about adopting healthy behaviors that promote lifestyles associated with reproductive health.

Additionally, the program will provide psychological and physical support to mothers during pre- and postnatal periods. This support comes through a comprehensive package of field activities and interactive digital materials, most notably an electronic toolkit providing reliable, easily accessible health content in both Arabic and English to enhance family awareness and sound health decision-making.

Mobile Health Council Initiative Reaches Communities

The second initiative, the “Mobile Health Council,” aims to enhance health awareness and establish concepts of active and balanced living among community members through direct awareness sessions in community councils across the UAE emirates. The initiative seeks to reach families in their natural social environments, providing simplified educational programs covering proper nutrition, physical activity, and chronic disease prevention.

According to the institution, traditional councils serve as an authentic community platform contributing to direct and effective health message delivery while reinforcing the family’s role in adopting healthy and sustainable lifestyles. The initiative includes a series of interactive events alongside distribution of digital awareness materials to maximize reach and engagement.

Comprehensive Health Programs Implemented Throughout 2025

As part of its commitment to enhancing women’s, maternal, and child health, Emirates Health Services implemented an extensive package of specialized educational and awareness programs during 2025. These programs targeted various community segments including children, women, pregnant women, mothers, and families, aiming to establish the principle of integrated healthcare from early life stages.

The institution’s awareness programs focused on maternal and child health from a comprehensive perspective, including educational campaigns about maternal health during pregnancy preparation, proper nutrition during pregnancy, and safe delivery. However, the programs extended beyond pregnancy to include awareness sessions for mothers about breastfeeding and postpartum mental health support.

In child health, the institution implemented extensive programs covering vaccination campaigns, growth monitoring, infectious and non-communicable disease prevention, and nutrition education. Meanwhile, schools witnessed implementation of interactive health programs and awareness lectures targeting students to increase health awareness and establish sound practices in their daily environment.

    Digital Content Expands Program Reach

In contrast to traditional outreach methods, the institution launched multilingual digital awareness content through its electronic platforms and smart application. This digital approach ensures accurate and reliable health information reaches families across all UAE emirates, supporting continuous health learning beyond field events and enhancing smart technology use in spreading health knowledge.

The institution indicated that these comprehensive efforts contribute to building a health-conscious generation capable of maintaining physical and mental health. The programs emphasize preventive care and long-term investment in future generations’ health, supporting the nation’s vision of building a healthy, aware, and family-cohesive society.

While specific launch dates for the two new initiatives have not been confirmed, authorities indicated they will roll out during the Year of the Family campaign. Further details regarding implementation timelines and specific target populations are expected to be announced in coming weeks.
