The second edition of Mindfulness-integrated CBT for Well-being and Personal Growth is now available — and it represents more than an update. It reflects two decades of clinical refinement, reader feedback, and advances in neuroscience that have deepened the evidence base for MiCBT as an approach to lasting psychological change.

Dr Bruno Cayoun and Dr Andrea Grabovac developed this edition with a clear purpose: to make the program more accessible, more clinically rigorous, and more effective for the people who need it most. That includes individuals working through the program independently, and mental health professionals using MiCBT alongside clinical practice.

What’s New in the Second Edition

The core of the program — the 10-week structure, the four stages, the integration of mindfulness and CBT — remains unchanged. What has been updated is substantial:

    Trauma-aware guidance

The new edition includes specific guidance for individuals and clinicians working with trauma histories. MiCBT has always been applicable to PTSD, but the updated edition makes the delivery approach explicit and safe.

    Interoceptive exposure protocol

One of the most significant clinical updates. This is a refined protocol for using body-sensation awareness as the mechanism for exposure work — evidence-based, step-by-step, and fully integrated into the program structure.

    Updated neuroscience.

The past decade has produced significant research on interoception, predictive processing, and the neurological mechanisms underlying anxiety and depression. The second edition incorporates this in an accessible way.

    Who Is This Book For?

The Second Edition serves two audiences deliberately. For individuals, it is a complete self-help program. No therapist, course, or prior experience with mindfulness or CBT is required. The 10-week structure provides everything needed, week by week, to build the skills that produce lasting change. For mental health professionals, it is both a clinical resource and a program that can be used directly with clients. The updated protocols, case studies, and neuroscience make it a rigorous companion to clinical practice.
