HUMBOLDT — Mental health awareness took center stage Tuesday at Humboldt High School.

Members of the Cubs Against the Stigma  — an offshoot of the newly developed Zero Reasons Why anti-suicide campaign — hosted a number of activities during Tuesday evening’s basketball games against Leon-Bluestem

The players, cheerleaders, dancers and fans wore matching green “Zero Reasons Why” shirts. More than 130 shirts were sold for the event, reported Darcie Croisant, Humboldt Middle School counselor.

On top of the shirts, the group hosted a raffle for various prizes, and hosted a trivia game about mental health.Humboldt High School student Thatcher Student, center, spins a prize wheel monitored by Gabi Vargas-Garcia, seated. “It was a great turnout for a Tuesday night game,” Croisant said. “I am hopeful this will raise awareness with not just the community, but also with the student body to have more teens join Cubs Against the Stigma. It’s a great cause.”
