Most Social Security recipients will receive their regular check in February, though some may not receive any in March.
Social Security benefits are typically disbursed to its nearly 74 million beneficiaries on Wednesdays, but your exact payment date depends on your birthdate. If you were born between the first and 10th, you’re paid on the second Wednesday of the month, which is Feb. 11. If your birthday falls between the 11th and 20th, you’re paid on the third Wednesday, which is Feb. 18. And if you were born after the 20th, you’re paid on the fourth Wednesday of the month, which is Feb. 25, according to the Social Security Administration’s calendar.
Here’s what to know about the Social Security payment for 2026 and when checks will go out in February.
February 2026 Social Security payment schedule
The Social Security Administration’s 2026 payment schedule is available online to help recipients plan their budgets accordingly.
Regular Social Security retirement benefits will be issued according to the SSA’s standard payment schedule:
Feb. 11: Birth dates between the first and 10th of the month.
Feb. 18: Birth dates between the 11th and the 20th of the month.
Feb. 25: Birth dates between the 21st and the 31st of the month.
SSI payments coming in February
Beneficiaries who receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) will receive one check this month, on Friday, Feb. 27, which corresponds to March.
The next check SSI recipients will receive will be the April check on April 1.
