Finding a perfect skin-care routine can be a little tricky, but it is also important to understand your skin and its type. There are four skin types: normal, dry, oily and combination. We have curated a few skin-care steps for different skin types and have also simplified the entire process.

    Skin-Care Routine For Dry Skin:

Divide the skin care routine between morning and night, but keep everything simple.

    Skin-Care Routine For Oily Skin:

Taking care of oily skin can be tricky, but follow these simple steps to make it easy.

    Morning:

    • Use a gentle cleanser to wash your face in the morning. It will remove the oil buildup on your face and won’t strip your skin’s protective barrier.
    • Many people with oily skin types skip moisturising. You can apply a lightweight and water-based moisturiser to hydrate your skin.
    • To finish the morning routine, use a mattifying, non-comedogenic, or dry-touch sunscreen.

    Night:

    • Clean your face properly to remove dirt, sweat, or makeup if you used it.
    • Use the same lightweight moisturiser to keep your skin barrier healthy.

    Skin-Care Routine For Combination Skin:

Combination skin types need a balanced routine to take care of your oily T-zone while also keeping the rest of the face glowy.

    Morning:

    • Wash your face with a mild and water-based gel cleanser.
    • Use a lightweight and oil-free moisturiser to keep your face non greasy.
    • Use a matte-finish sunscreen to protect your face from damage and also avoid having a shine.

    Evening:

    • Use the same water-based gel cleanser to wash your face.
    • You can even use a suitable serum for a gentle chemical exfoliant. Use this only after the recommendation of a dermatologist.
    • Moisturise your face with the same lightweight gel cream.

    Skin-Care Routine For Normal Skin:

Even though taking care of normal skin is not complicated, one needs to be mindful.

    Morning:

    • Use a mild and hydrating cleanser to wash your face.
    • Apply a light cream or water gel moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated.
    • Complete the morning routine with sunscreen.

    Night:

    • Wash your face with the same cleanser to remove the dirt and dust.
    • Use the same moisturiser again before going to sleep.

How To Find Your Skin Type?

Before looking for a skin-care routine, there are a few steps you need to follow to know your skin type.

    • Wash your face with a gentle cleanser.
    • Pat your face dry and leave it for 30 to 60 minutes.

    Results:

    • If your skin gets tight and flaky, then you have dry skin.
    • If your entire face has a shine, then it is an oily skin type.
    • If you see shine only on your forehead and nose, then you have combination skin.
    • If there is no oiliness or tightness on your face, then you have a normal skin type.

Taking care of skin can be a tricky process but keep things simple helps. If you are dealing with a skin issues like acne, consult a dermatologist first before following any routine.
