(NewsNation) — Social Security recipients will see a normal schedule in July, with most payments paid primarily to older or retired recipients and sent out on Wednesdays.

The Social Security Administration said a June payment reflects Social Security retirement benefits for July, while July benefits are paid in August.

For those who want to monitor their payments closely in July or just need a good way to structure their budget, the regular Social Security retirement benefit schedule for 2026 and 2027 is available online.

Retirement benefits could be depleted by 2032: Report

    July Social Security payment schedule

The SSA staggers payments by birth date:

    • Wednesday, July 8: Birth dates between the 1st and 10th
    • Wednesday, July 15: Birth dates between the 11th and 20th
    • Wednesday, July 22: Birth dates between the 21st and 31st

Social Security recipients who began getting benefits before May 1997 are scheduled to be paid on Thursday, July 2.

    July SSI payment schedule

Supplemental Security Income recipients are typically issued payments on the first business day of the month; this month, that is Wednesday, July 1. Occasionally, recipients may get two checks because the first business day of the following month is on a weekend or holiday.

SSI beneficiaries are slated to receive two payments in July: On Wednesday, July 1, and Friday, July 31. The July 31 payment is technically for August, so you won’t receive another SSI payment until Sept. 1.

The full SSI payment schedule for the rest of 2026 is as follows:

    • Tuesday, Sept. 1, 2026
    • Thursday, Oct. 1, 2026
    • Friday, Oct. 30, 2026
    • Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2026
    • Thursday, Dec. 31, 2026

The SSA recommends beneficiaries who don’t receive a payment on their due date to first contact their bank or financial institution to see if there was a delay. If not, the SSA recommends calling 1-800-772-1213 or contacting a local Social Security office.
