Accessibility is the main gateway for inclusivity. AI which is artificial intelligence should become an assistive intelligence in order to realise accessibility and inclusivity, said the Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities, DEPwD, Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment S. Govindaraj, here on Monday.
Addressing the gathering at the inauguration of Umay Assistive Technology Studio at Thiagarajar College of Engineering (TCE), Mr. Govindaraj emphasised that accessibility is the main gateway for inclusivity and said it is the technology which is understood as an equalising factor on par with others to stand alone and together by persons with disabilities to compete and to feel compatibility in society.
Dean (Academic), JIPMER, Karaikal, K. Sunil Narayan highlighted the growing importance of assistive technology and commended Umay for its impactful contributions.
