Actor Deepika Padukone has announced an expansion of The Live Love Laugh Foundation’s rural mental health programme in Chhindwara, backed by a new three-year CSR partnership with Bisleri International. The collaboration aims to scale access to mental healthcare in underserved communities while strengthening a sustainable, community-led model.
Deepika Padukone expands rural mental health initiative in Chhindwara with Bisleri Partnership
Launched in January 2023 in the Sausar block, the initiative initially covered 60 villages and has since expanded to 134 villages, reaching 1,595 beneficiaries. It has now extended into the Bichua block, adding 42 more villages and supporting 200 persons living with mental illness.
The programme focuses on creating awareness, early identification of mental health conditions, improving access to treatment, and offering caregiver support. It also works toward building grassroots participation to ensure long-term, sustainable impact in rural areas.
Announcing the partnership, Deepika Padukone said, “Since its inception, The Live Love Laugh Foundation has been committed to creating awareness about the importance of mental health as well as improving accessibility and affordability of mental healthcare across the country. Our rural programme is an important part of that effort. We are pleased to have Bisleri International join us in strengthening our work in Chhindwara. Their support enables us to scale the programme and move closer to our goal of building a sustainable, community-led mental health system.”
