CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. (WDEF) – Today, the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults and the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County held a proclamation ceremony at the Courts Building to recognize Sexual Assault Awareness Month.

The event reaffirmed the city and county’s commitment to supporting survivors and encouraged the public to participate in awareness efforts.

Community partners recognized for their work included the Dr. Carol B. Berz Family Justice Center, local law enforcement, and the Hamilton County District Attorney’s Office.

The Partnership Rape Crisis Center provides forensic medical exams, trauma-informed counseling, court advocacy, and a 24/7 confidential hotline.

The center collaborates with the Children’s Advocacy Center to provide services for youth aged 13 to 17.

Last year, the center responded to 1,415 crisis hotline calls and performed 142 forensic medical exams, a 27 percent increase over five years.

The public can support survivors by donating at partnershipfca.com/donate. Individuals seeking immediate support can call the Rape Crisis Center at 423-755-2700.
