Project Parivarthan, an initiative focusing on ‘Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat’, mental health well-being, and screen de-addiction, was organised at PVKK College of Engineering in Anantapur on Monday (March 30, 2026).

The programme was conducted by Nigama Foundation and PVKK College of Engineering in coordination with MYBharat, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, and Pragathi Padham Youth Association, and aimed to create awareness among youth about substance abuse, mental health challenges, and the growing impact of digital addiction.

MYBharat Representative and National Youth Awardee Bisathi Bharath, eminent psychiatrist Dr. Garugu Balaji, Dr. Bandi Ramesh Babu, Principal of PVKK College, and others participated.

Addressing the gathering, Mr. Bisathi Bharath highlighted the alarming rise of drug addiction among adolescents and youth. He stated that youngsters are falling prey to alcohol, smoking, ganja, and other harmful substances, which negatively impacts their health and future. He also spoke about the increasing problem of screen addiction, noting that excessive mobile usage leads to poor concentration, sleep disturbances, anxiety, and reduced social interaction. The programme concluded with students taking the ‘Nasha Mukt Bharat’ pledge.
