If you usually spend your entire Sunday in bed, watching reality TV and dreading the week ahead, well, that’s normal.

But what if you decide to start spending your Sundays completely differently? It could leave you feeling both refreshed and totally zen, ready to tackle whatever responsibilities await you in the upcoming week.

All it takes is incorporating a self-care Sunday routine, and particularly an at-home spa day.

Having an at-home spa day is an incredibly popular self-care Sunday routine, and for good reason. It’s a wonderful way to relax, unwind and pamper yourself from head to toe.

Here are a few tips for creating your self-care Sunday experience, as approved by Self Woman magazine

    Take a warm bath

Run yourself a warm bubble bath. Bubble baths are not only relaxing, but they also help soothe tired muscles and calm your mind. If you can, add Epsom salts and prioritise hydration after the bath. While you soak in the bath, treat your face to a luxurious face mask.

    Scents and calming music

Focusing on the gentle beats of music allows you to free your mind of any worries and enjoy the moment. Scents are a well-known way to boost your health and mood, perfect for enhancing the sensual self-care experience.

    Meditation

Meditation is soothing for your mind. It is a wonderful self-care practice that makes you feel calm, centred, and at peace with yourself. One of the great things about meditation is that it’s super easy to do; anyone can do it, anywhere, anytime. The essential key part of meditation is deep breathing.

    Meal prepping

A lot of people have picked up the habit of preparing their meals for the upcoming week. Cooking is also a great way to establish a routine.

    Take a digital detox

Another effective form of self-care that helps you unwind from the hustle of the workweek is to take a digital detox. It’s a fantastic way to recharge and reconnect with the world around you.
