As each new day dawns, we are all given the choice to be happy or not and to be positive or negative. Each day is a fresh start to focus on hope and positivity and that includes taking care of or our own state of mind.

A major factor in the degree of our individual happiness is how much we believe in ourselves and how much we believe that we actually deserve to be happy. Too often, we sabotage our own happiness by not having enough faith in our own capabilities and our own right to live a thriving and happy life.

The truth is, we all matter and each and every one of us is entitled to happiness. We need to read that again: every single one of us desires happiness and has a right to be happy. We all have value and everyone we meet, no matter how different we may perceive them to be, is just a fellow human being trying to make it in this world. Today is the perfect day for all of us to affirm that we will not just treat others with kindness and respect, but that we will also give ourselves the same benefit and courtesy. Upon waking each day, tell yourself the following:

I am worthy. I matter and I have value.

I am good enough. None of us are perfect and we all make mistakes, so I am good enough.

I will keep trying. I don’t always get it right, but I just have to keep trying my best.

I will stay positive. I will focus on the positives and benefits in my life and I will be grateful for all that I have.

You are important and you matter greatly. You do have the right to be happy — we all do. Stay strong, focus on the good and hopeful and remind yourself as often as you need to, that you deserve to thrive in this life.  Lead with positivity, kindness and compassion, so that it flows back to you in kind and the circle of optimism continues to make life better for all.

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace, and gratitude.”  – Denis Waitley
