Postal worker brings joy to community through his passion for singing.
Lavonte Harvey, a letter carrier in Chicago, often sings as he makes his rounds since music has always been his passion. He enjoys spreading joy through his songs.
One day, as he approached the doorstep of Wanda, a 76-year-old widow, his heartfelt singing was captured on her doorbell camera.
Wanda’s granddaughter, Whitney Cumbo, later shared the video on social media, where it quickly gained attention from people around the world.
When Whitney learned that Harvey was struggling with reliable transportation to get to work, she encouraged him to launch a crowdfunding campaign to help him purchase a car. Thanks to the generosity of the community, Lavonte was able to buy a car of his own!
“Within 24 hours, my life did a complete 360, and I couldn’t be anything but grateful for that. I’m just like, that was God’s placement. I was supposed to be on this route for a reason,” Lavonte said.
Teenager uses the earnings from his first job to help the homeless.
18-year-old Jessie Wade recently started his first job at Burger King. With his very first paycheck, he chose to give back to the community in a meaningful way.
He bought about 100 blankets, hand warmers, and other essential supplies to distribute to people experiencing homelessness.
Jessie is determined to help even more people! He is actively trying to come up with new ideas to expand his efforts.
He hopes to set a positive example for his younger brothers through his acts of kindness.
“So I think it was a great example for him to do something like that and show people that we care. It was very, very surprising that he wanted to do something like that. But at the same time, I was thankful to be his father and experience that with him, so it was very, very great,” said Wade’s father, Antwan Speller.
A beautiful bond between a Navy veteran and a young man warms hearts.
David Heaven and Frank come from two different worlds.
David is a young immigrant from Nigeria, while Frank is a 92-year-old veteran who served in the U.S. Navy.
Despite facing tough times himself, David wanted to help others in his community.
The two first met in 2023 when David volunteered his time to walk Frank’s dog. Their friendship blossomed quickly, and David eventually became Frank’s caregiver.
Videos of their time together spread joy across social media. Their heartwarming bond is proof that friendship knows no boundaries!
“David is the most inspirational person I have ever run across in my 90 years. He’s just a wonderfully warm human being,” said Frank.
4-year-old heart patient forms heartwarming friendship with construction crew.
4-year-old Brinley Wyczalek is being treated at the Cleveland Clinic Children’s Hospital. One day, while playing with a flashlight in her room, she aimed the beam across the street.
To her surprise, a construction crew working in the building opposite her room shone their lights back. They even held up a sign that read, “Get well soon”, which marked the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
From that day on, the workers regularly cheered for Brinley through the window, sharing uplifting messages to brighten her days.
The crew gifted Brinley a six-foot teddy bear, gift baskets, donations, and even a construction hard hat signed by all the workers. This surprise connection has brought joy and comfort to Brinley during a challenging time.
“They love her. So, I’m glad that we were able to do that and give her some hope, too,” said Brinley’s mom, Berlyn.
