Narratives that highlight stories of hope and recovery following suicide attempts can encourage help-seeking behaviour, experts said on Friday during a panel discussion at the National Conference on Suicide Prevention, Mental Health Awareness and Compassionate Care organised by Sneha, a non-governmental organisation.
The panel included N. Ram, Director, The Hindu Group, Greg Armstrong, Professor, Melbourne School of Population and Global Health, Thomas Niederkrotenthaler, Professor of Mental Health at the Medical University of Melbourne, Ramya Kannan, Health Editor & Chief of Bureau – Tamil Nadu, The Hindu. The discussion was moderated by Amrit Pattojoshi.
