Becoming a more positive and happy person does take effort, but anyone who has made this transformative journey, knows the rewards far outweigh the work. And finding sources of positivity is a crucial aspect.

For Christians in particular, the journey toward happiness, fulfillment and positivity is made all the easier through our faith. After all, the word gospel actually means “good news,” so our faith is centered on all the good things: love, peace, joy, friendship and so much more.

There are many Bible passages that we can draw inspiration and energy from and we should always focus on finding and consuming all the teachings and lessons in the Bible that help us to be what we are meant to be: peaceful, compassionate and happy people.

One passage in particular and as a good example, is Philippians 4:8 , which teaches us:

“Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable, if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think about these things.”

This inspirational teaching is telling us to focus on what is good and peaceful in our lives and in this world — to cultivate and live by qualities like hope, peace, compassion, generosity, truth and love. We are shown that the way it so reject evil and negativity and not allow it into our hearts and minds. Faith is the way to happiness and we have every reason to be happy and feel safe and secure. And, we are always called upon to share love and peace — to be kind to all and to want the best not just for our self, but for everyone.

Positivity means letting go of toxic and negative thoughts, reactions, words and attitudes and in their place, putting love, peace, friendship, understanding, hope and faith. If you’re on a new or continuing journey to positivity and you are a Christian, let the Bible help you on your path.

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.” – Romans 15:13
